Train station pished

Leonard Cohen is a weird and wonderful artist whose music actually seemed to get more accessible as he approached his 80s. Going to come back to this one as some of the songs were hard to get into — as if he was pished and singing at you in the middle of a busy train station in New York. I’m probably missing something but I’ll give it a 6.1/10.

Back in the heady days of UK lockdown 2, I challenged myself to listen to every one of a large, disparate and frankly confusing collection of vinyl records that presides in my home — a collection built from years of family members collecting mostly bizarre purchases and freebies over a period of about 5 decades. A good read if you’re interested in reviews of random and obscure records from the likes of Rossini and DMX, which mix references of 90s Italian football referees and shameful personal karaoke performances in dodgy Glasgow pubs. Review scores are purposely considered for no longer than 5 seconds before being penned, and are inspired by overly-harsh player reviews written in continental European sports broadsheets by old men who smoke and drink too much.
